So if you're going to go, don't expect to take it seriously, cuz it is ridiculous & funny. It reminds me of a mix of Rocky Horror PIcture Show (naughtiness and ridiculousness) and Footloose (joyfulness from music and dancing). Not to say that folks younger and older than that won't, but I think that age range is the target audience. I think that folks who are/have been into rock & roll and are between 40 and 65 now will get the biggest kick out of it. The music is rock and roll and largely from the 80s.

I have not seen the Broadway version, so I can't compare the movie to that, but I gotta say it was a HOOT. I think that folks who are/have been Just came from seeing Rock of Ages with Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and many more.
